He was predeceased by: his father Leland Marvin. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Southerland Whitehead Barber; his children, Charlotte Leigh Soren (Todd) of Henrico, VA, Christopher Howard Whitehead, II (Wendy) of Burgaw, NC, William Cofield Whitehead (Amie) of Wilson, NC and Jason Edwyn Whitehead (Anna) of Wilson, NC; his mother Agnes Phelps Barber of Jamesville, NC; and his brothers, Emerson Loyal Sawyer (Shirley) of Greenville, NC, Marvin Gregory Barber (Lori) of Jamesville, NC, Jeffrey Elton Barber (Trina) of Crown Point, IN and Leland Marvin Barber, Jr. (Anita) of Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Barbers family requests that donations be made to Wilson Rescue Squad, or Hospice of Wilson.
