She is survived by: her daughter Terry Jones Kirkland (Robert III) of Wilson; her grandchildren, R. E. 'Bert Kirkland IV (Ashley S.) of Williamsburg, VA, Gardner K. Orr (Daniel) of Raleigh and Thomas A. Kirkland (Alexandra) of Durham; and her great grandchildren, Robert "Teddy" Kirkland V, Caroline Kirkland, Smith Orr and Wells Orr.
