She was predeceased by: her parents, James Batts and Vallie Mae Gunter; her son Vincent Leon Batts; her grandson Javonte Shyeim Thomas; her siblings, Shirley Crooms and Robert Crooms, Jr.; and her grandmother Sally Mae Batts.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Ray Batts (Mindy) of Black Creek, NC, Teresa Robinson (Jamar) of Rocky Mount, NC, Rochelle Moody (Tony) of Wilson, NC and Tina Louise Thomas of Elm City, NC; her sisters, Dianne Crooms of Wilson, NC, Valrie Smith of Wilson, NC and Carolyn Crooms Taylor of Wilson, NC; her cousins, Lois Reid and Claude June Blackston; her close friends, Willie Brown, William Barnes, Willie York, Johnny York, Linda Summerlin and Carolyn McKenzie; and her cousin Larry Gunter. She is also survived by three aunts, four uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
