She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Earl Gardner; her grandson Paul Ferguson; her parents, Columbus Hunter and Katie Irene Deans; and her siblings, Betty Jean Evans, Herman Richardson and Jimmy Hunter.
She is survived by: her daughter Katherine Ferguson (Lamont) of Wilson, NC; her grandchildren, Emanuel Ferguson (Tiffany) of Elm City, NC, Jonathan Ferguson and Mathew Ferguson (Rebecca) of Wilson, NC; her sister Patsy Massenburg (Bernard) of Richmond, VA; and her sister-in-law Hortense Gardner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
