She was predeceased by: her husband Roger Cockrell; her son Robert Willis Cockrell; her grandson Will Cockrell; her parents, Fay Lee Hussey and Marguerite Parsons Hussey; and her sister Betty Hussey Liles.

She is survived by: her son Steve Cockrell (Lynn) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Gregory Cockrell (Kara), Bradley Cockrell (Jennifer), Jennifer Marks (Daniel), Kelly Cockrell and Sara Cockrell; her great grandchildren, Olivia, Parker Marks, Sloane, Zoey, Sydney and Nora Cockrell; and her aunt Luann Peterson.
