He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Carlton and Mildred Nichols Fulghum. He is survived by: his wife Rita Alligood Fulghum; his children, Richard "Richie" Fulghum III (Jamey) of Wilson and Krista F. Potter (Allen) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Kevin Fulghum, Garrett Potter, James Fulghum and Raegan Fulghum; his brother Philip Fulghum (Barbara) of Pinehurst; his nephew Grant Fulghum; and his sister-in-law Kim A. Murray (Rick) of Washington, NC..
