He is survived by: his wife Kay Trevathan Carter; his children, Lynn Edwards of Lucama and Don W. Edwards (Christa) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Christian Edwards, Justin Edwards, Tyler Edwards (Brianna), Joshua Edwards and Isabella Edwards; and his sisters, Mary McCarter (Joe) of Nashville, Shirley Hall (Bubba) of Rocky Mount and Kathy Sloan of Ramseur.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 College St NE, Wilson, NC 27893).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 202 Kincaid Ave N, Wilson, NC 27893.
