He is survived by: his wife Kay Trevathan Carter; his children, Lynn Edwards of Lucama and Don W. Edwards (Christa) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Christian Edwards, Justin Scott, Tyler Edwards (Brianna), Joshua Edwards and Isabella Edwards; and his sisters, Mary McCarter (Joe) of Nashville, Shirley Hall (Bubba) of Rocky Mount and Kathy Sloan of Ramseur.
