She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Joyner and Iva Joyner; and her siblings, Clinton Joyner, Otha Joyner, Justine Thorne and Pat Connour.
She is survived by: her husband A. C. Hardison; her children, Al Hardison (Nancy) of Wilson and Jennifer Klingel (Kevin) of Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Connor Hardison (Jay) of Wilson, Bailey Hardison, Jason Acevedo of Wilson, Hunter Klingel of Chapel Hill and Zachary Klingel of Chapel Hill; and her great grandchild Mason Acevedo of Wilson.
