He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Norman and Vara Nelms; and his siblings, Carolyn Tippette and Dale. He is survived by: his brother Roger; and his nieces and nephews, Amy Knox (Jason) of Tarboro, Marcie Credle (Chris) of Zebulon, Leslie Watson (Eddie) of Whitakers, Denise Bass (Kirkland) of Momeyer, Brian Tippette of Nashville and Michael.
