He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Grimsley Parris; his children, Teresa Howard, Vince and Hilton Parris; and his parents, Albert Parris and Elizabeth Moore Parris.

He is survived by: his sons, Al Parris (Carlette) of Elm City and Charlie Keen (Melissa) of Selma; his grandchildren, Jessica Parris (William McLamb) of Raleigh, Brian Parris (Jessica) of Fuquay Varina and Chris Howard (Sara) of Wilson; and his sister Nancy Russell of Wilson.
