He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Dail, Sr. and Elsie Hill Dail Johnson; and his sister Donna Batchelor. He is survived by: his wife Betsy Hendricks Dail; his children, Jaime Garrett of Wilson and Justin Dail of Bailey; his grandchildren, Cassie Dail and Devin Garrett; his brother Larry Dail (Gail) of Snow Hill; his nephew Brad Dail (Amanda); his brother-in-law Bobby Batchelor of Wilson; and also Ashley Mizelle (Chris). He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
