She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Claudius Taylor and Mable Gatlin Taylor of Kinston; and her husband Dr. T. C. Hesmer, Jr.. She is survived by: her close friend Arnold Parris; her children, Anna Hesmer, Russell Hesmer (Crystal), Donna Browning (Holt), Ron Hesmer (Katharine) and Taylor Hesmer (Keely); her great grandchildren, Andrew Gleeson (Christine), Christopher Gleeson (Jenny), Rachel Gleeson (Aaron) and Zya; and her grandchildren, William Hesmer (Tacey), William III, Anderson, Hunter, Anna Jane Franklin (TK), Kivett, Anna Russell, David Hesmer (Grace Bell), Caroline, Elizabeth Holt Browning, Whitney Ziada (Will), Smedes, Skeet Hesmer, Sidney (Ryan Dixon) and Taylor Jr. Hesmer. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Methodist Church (101 West Green Street, Wilson, NC).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Wilson, a place where Mable's spirit and legacy will continue to be honored.
