He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Ward; his children, Katrina Humphrey of Goldsboro, Sharnia Saunders of Wilson, Shatisha Rhodes of Wilson, Durand Ward of Mt Olive and Gerald Ward of Mt Olive; his siblings, Arthur Chavis of Delway, Wilda Maynor of Delway, Reverend Sandra Spell of Delway, Antoinette Moore of Delway and Dora Ray of Delway; his grandchildren, Durand, Deanel, Travis, Antoine, Anthony, Nyzir, Kaiden, Kameron, Rochelle, Jaqaya, Janaya, Shanquandra, Yasheonna and Nyionna; his uncle Willie M Washington of Fort Pierce; his siblings-in-law, Lewis Saunders (Manuela) of Berlin, Basil Harvey of Wilson, Debra Hunt, Margie Harvey of Brooklyn and Teresa Saunders of Harrels; and his cousin Jerome Melvin.
