She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Garris, Sr.; and her sister Faye Whitley. She is survived by: her children, Pamela "Pam" King of Stantonsburg, Carol Deans (Timothy) of Wilson, Paula Garris, Paul Garris (Cristy) of Wilson and Kent Garris (Jamie) of Lucama; and her siblings, Camilla Eason of Macclesfield, Kay Harrell of Macclesfield, Shelly Benson of Tarboro and Connor Baker of Wilson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
