He is survived by: his wife McGlustria "Jean" Harris; his children, Joseph Harris, Jr. (Serethia), Jeffery Harris (Selena), Virginia Beach and Jennifer Harris-Williams (Milton); his grandchildren, Ryan Smith (Tiffany), Marquita Morning (Broderick), Virginia Beach, Darien Cox (Alyssa), Jayla Harris, Christopher Lee (Shakina) and Lauren Williams; his great grandchildren, Jasmine Morning, Broderick Morning, Jr., Roman Cox, Khai Lee, Landon Cox and Jayden Cox; his sisters, Annie Woodard of Saratoga, NC, Dorothy Bynum of Wilson, NC, Hilda Harris (William) of Wilson, NC and Angela Lane (Willis) of Wilson, NC; his sister-in-law Annie Pearl Harris of Raleigh, NC; and his goddaughter Tracey Pinkin. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
