He was predeceased by: his wife Althea Morgan Whitley; and his brother James Whitley. He is survived by: his sons, Whitley, Jr. (Tanya) of Wilson and Jonathan Whitley of Wilson; his grandchildren, Noah Whitley (Teresa), Zachary Whitley, Justin Whitley, Logan Whitley and Waylon Whitley; and his great grandchild Marcus Whitley.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shingleton Funeral Home to help the family with end of life expenses.
