We are sad to announce that on December 23, 2023, at the age of 74, Joan Stancil Thompson (Wilson, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband George A. Thompson, Jr.; her son Alvin Stancil Thompson; her brothers, Danny Stancil and Steve Stancil; and her parents, James Alvin Stancil and Marian Yarboro Stancil.
She is survived by: her son George A. Thompson, III of Wilmington; her siblings, Jimmy Stancil (Cathy) of Wilson and Marian Lamm of Wilson; her nephew Marshall Bass of Wilson; her nieces, Tish Summerlin (Steve) of Wilson, Kelly Barnes (Billy) of Wilson and LeeAnn Edwards (Justin) of Zebulon; and her sister-in-law Gail Thompson of Goldsboro.
