He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Getty Holden and Henry Holden; his children, Annie Doris "Dot" Holden and Alfred Holden; and his siblings, Iester Foreman, Fannie Worthy, Catherine Stith and Robert Lee Holden.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Batts Holden; his children, Fannie Maye Holden of Allentown, Barbara Jean Thompson of Rocky Mount, John Douglas Holden (Diana) of Augusta, Elton Ray Holden (Monisha) of Augusta, Samuel Holden of Wilson, James Ray Thomas of Wilson, Danny Thomas (Darline) of Lucama, Darlene B. Wright (Bruce) of Wilson, Renee Batts of Wilson, Roscoe (Rose) of Rose Hill and Wayne (Joyce) of Wilson; and his siblings, Sadie Mercer of Wilson, Sarah Arrington of Wilson, Layton Holden of Wilson and Henry Holden (Ann) of Wilson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
