He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Crowder Tyson; his son James Edwin Tyson; and his siblings, Mary Ann Stokes and Glenn "Buddy" Tyson, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Angela "Angie" Forrest of Wilson and John Holland; his grandsons, James Glenn Tyson and Christopher Ward; his great grandchildren, Harley Tyson, James Tyson, Hannah Tyson, Damion Tyson and Meredith Tyson; his great great grandchildren, Katy Barbour and Jonathon Tyson; his sister Clara Tyson Sauls of Eureka; and his nieces and nephews, Debbie, Sharon, Lisa, Sabrinia, Jimmy, Mark and Tim.
