He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca "Becky" High of Wilson; his adoptive daughter Gale Strickland of Wilson; his nephew Barney H. High III of Charlotte; his nieces, Suzanne McBrayer of Jamestown, Beth High of Nashville and Deborah Saulter of Black Creek; and his goddaughters, Jennifer Sawyer Moore (Mike) of Rock Hill and Lisa Sawyer Giarmono (Anthony) of Elizabeth City.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be directed to Gentiva Hospice, 2841 Daisy Lane N, Suite E, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
