It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hughes Dillard of Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wilson Dillard, Sr. and Annie Barnes Dillard; and his brother John Wilson Dillard, Jr. (Martha Todd Dillard). He is survived by: his wife Tempie Ree Poland Dillard; his children, Ann Dillard Grist (Walter), Mary Jon Dillard of Wilson and Hughes Dillard, Jr. (Rafael) of St. Petersburg, Florida; his stepgranddaughter Joanna Grist; his siblings-in-law, Dell Carpenter, Joyce Poland and Alvin Poland; and also, Keenan and Emmett.
