He was predeceased by: his wife Georgia Elmore Gardner; and his parents, Luther Gardner and Lela Holt Gardner. He is survived by: his children, Shirl Walsh (Larry) of Burlington, Cindy Dean (Timothy) of Kenly and Timmy Gardner of Stantonsburg; his grandchildren, Khristina Grant (Bob), Autumn Jarrett (Jeremy), Lillie, Maddie Gardner, Kimberly Dean and Derrick Dean (Olivia); his great grandchildren, Gracie, Waylon, Sawyer Hayes Dean, Camden Grant and Georgia Marie Jarrett; and his sisters, Dorothy Winstead of Wilson and Margie Shelton of Stantonsburg.
