He was predeceased by: his father H. H. Walston III; his cousins, Winniett Peters, Jr., Bert Walston, Jr., Ruth Walston Harris and Sandy Kirkland Haidinger; and his friend David Woodard.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Louise Walston; his son Kirkland Stringer Walston; his mother Martha Kirkland Walston; his sisters, Martha Kirkland Walston and Jean Walston Neese (Johnny); his nephews, Henry Coble Neese and Jack Walston Neese; his niece Martha Walker Neese; and his caregiver Carlos Burks.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (100 Green St NE, Wilson, NC 27893).
