He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Sutton and Ruby Sharpe Sutton of Wilson County; and his siblings, Cora Surles Bailey "Tootsie", Jack and Jimmy Sutton.
He is survived by: his sisters, Jean Little of Wilson, Peggy Coley (Junior) of Zebulon and Ann Jones of Wake Forest; and his close friend Lucy Williams of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
