She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. John Martin Bowman; her parents, Daniel Smith and Hattie Whittaker Smith; and her grandson John Brock. She is survived by: her children, Gail Mahan (Mike) of Wilson, Rhonda Hanssen (Rich) of Tanzania, Africa, Wally Bowman (Karen) of Zebulon and Marty Bowman (Cindy) of Cape Carteret. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
