It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elton Proctor of Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Proctor and Florence Hawley Proctor; and his siblings, Josephine Jones, Earlene Ferrell, Lynda Crumpler, Rudolph, Reece, Gene and Lennis Proctor.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn P. Johnson of Wilson and Cathy P. Braswell (Glenn) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Chase Joyner (Brittany), Garrett Joyner and Brad Johnson; his great grandchildren, Sarah Joyner, Gracie Skinner and Maddie Johnson; and his brother Bobby Proctor of Wilson.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Wilson Memorial Service (2811 Fieldstream Dr N, Wilson, NC 27896). Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 College St NE, Wilson, NC 27893).
