She is survived by: her brother Henry Whitley; her sister-in-law Genda Hobson; her grandchildren, Jay Hayes and Jordan Hayes; her husband Ray Joyner; her children, Joy Vick Hayes and Michael Joyner; and her sister Minnie Crumpler. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
