He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. James Earl Etheridge and Minnie Dees Etheridge. He is survived by: his wife Geneva "Genny" Quinn Hale Etheridge; his children, Margaret Quinn Etheridge (James Matthew Barfield) of Raleigh and James Edward Etheridge, Jr. (Colleen Fitzgerald Etheridge) of Wilson; his grandson James "Hale" Etheridge; his brother William Isaac Etheridge (Cathy) of Raleigh; and his brother-in-law Charles Herbert Hale, Jr. (Mary Duane). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
