He was predeceased by: his daughter Donna Smith; and his parents, Sidney Johnston Hager and Ruth Briggs Hager. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Overton Hager; his sons, Geoffrey Hager (Norma) of Winston Salem and Derek Hager (Sonja) of Winston Salem; his stepson Derek Fitzgerald (Erin) of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Cindel Hager, Gilia Hager, David Hager, Donovan Hager, Mckenna Hager and Emma Fitzgerald; and his close friend Apollo.
