With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Charles Shirley of Wilson, North Carolina, born in Walstonburg, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He is survived by: his brother Don R. Shirley (Brenda B. Shirley); his niece Pam Gill (John Gill); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaley Hess (Hayes Hess), Emily Almond, John Austin Gill and Timothy Gill; his nephew Jason Shirley (Shelby Shirley); his great-nephews, Jack Shirley and Anderson Shirley; and also Madison Barbour (Nathan Barbour).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Memorial Park (2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles' memory to Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh for giving Charles exceptional and loving care, and to Wilson County's Friends of the Library, an organization that held special significance for him.
