He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Clayton and Catherine Anderson Clayton. He is survived by: his brother Jesse A. Clayton of Atlantic Beach; his nephews, Reid Clayton of Raleigh and Mac Clayton of Raleigh; and his friend Sherry Howell of Wilson.
