She was predeceased by: her parents, Burl Thomas and Glatha Ann Carlyle; her husband Tommie Etheridge; her grandson David Thomas Etheridge; her son-in-law Charles Woodard Jr.; and her siblings, Delbert, Tommy, Izell, Darnell Carlyle, Mamie Fowler, Bethie Carlyle, Doris Driver and Vianna Bailey.

She is survived by: her friends, Patsy Woodard and Junior Etheridge; her children, Patsy Spence Woodard of Wilson, Jeannette Fulghum of Holly Ridge, Junior Etheridge (Judy Howard) and Terry Etheridge (Renee) of Wilson; her grandchildren, Brookie Jo Cummings (Travis) of Lucama, Holly Belle Pinckney (Eric) of Lucama, John Spence (Jessie) of Lucama, Rev. Matt Spence (Nicole) of Kenly, Allen Fulghum of Holly Ridge and Landon Etheridge of Wilson; her great grandchildren, Nyx, Owen Etheridge, Gabe, Mattie, Eden and Jett Spence; her siblings, Irene Horton, Betty Bunn, Glenda Langley, Chester, Coy and Curlee Carlyle; and also Dot Etheridge (Webb). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
