It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Edmundson Davis (Wilson, North Carolina), born in Wayne County, North Carolina, who passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Burrell Edmundson and Bessie Edmundson; her husband Winston Davis; and her siblings, Mollie E. Kirby, Jim C. Edmundson, Lawlos E. Bland, Atha E. Tunnell, B. J. Edmundson, Roscoe Edmundson, Ruth E. Hokum, LaDell Shackelford and Henry Edmundson.
She is survived by: her daughter Terry Davis Barnes; her son-in-law Devon Barnes; her son Gary Davis; her daughter-in-law Cindy Davis; her daughter Winnie Sue Sasser (Sam Sasser) of Fremont; her grandchildren, Jenna Wooten-Quade (Michael Quade) of Raleigh, Rob Wooten (Katie Wooten) of Sanford, Jill Davis of Greenville, Garrett Davis (Owen Davis) of Winterville and Grant Sasser (Lauren) of Fremont; her great grandchildren, Markie, Winston, Emilia Ruth, Vivian, Wicker, Lucy, Molly, Adaline, Graham and Watson; her stepgrandchildren, Elliott Barnes, Stephen Barnes and Katherine Peters; and her caregivers, Betsy Ingram, JoAnn Barnes and Linda Hunt. She is also survived by six step great grandchildren.
