It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernardine McGhie Wheeler (Wilson, North Carolina), who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe L. Wheeler, Jr.; her daughter Mary W. Peele; and her parents, George McGhie and Agnes McManus McGhie. She is survived by: her children, Patricia Shaw (Dennis) of Raleigh and Michael Wheeler (Kay) of Elm City. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
