It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne Anderson Bridgers Hackney (Wilson, North Carolina), who passed away on August 3, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Fleming Bridgers and Louise Anderson Bridgers; her husband John Needham Hackney, Jr.; her sister Mary Lou Bridgers Mattox; and her siblings-in-law, Huitt Everett Mattox, Jr. and Lynda Forrest.
She is survived by: her children, John Needham Hackney III, Susan Kellum, Thomas Bridgers Hackney (Susan King Hackney) and Louise Anderson Hackney (Mark Wayne Packard); her brother Thomas Fleming Bridgers, Jr.; her grandchildren, John Drew Hackney, Claire Corbett Hackney, Elizabeth Hackney Davies (Joseph Alan Davies), Anderson Hackney Brown (Colin Campbell Brown III), Anne Hackney Beal (Christopher Joseph Zuar) and Robert Kent Beal, Jr. (Madison Lee Beal); her great grandchildren, Frances Page Davies, Alexander Hunter Davies, Rebecca Bridgers Brown and Elizabeth Westbrook Brown; and her close friend Anne Sumner Brunson.
