He is survived by: his children, Durwood "Pokey" Lynch of Wilson, NC, Alton Ray Barnes, Jr. of Wilson, NC, Clifton LeMont Barnes of Atlanta, GA and Latossia Renee Joyner of Rocky Mount, NC; and his siblings, Mattie Delois Barnes of Wilson, NC, Verlene Barnes of Washington, DC, Roberta Irene Barnes of Elm City, NC, Artemus Taylor (Joyce) of Washington, DC, Robert Barnes, Jr. of Lucama, NC, Tyrone Mercer of Rocky Mount, NC and Vanessa Mercer of Elm City, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
