The passing of William Noble Downie Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, born in New London, Connecticut leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on November 11, 2024 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Noble Downie, Sr. and Lillian Fouhey Downie. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Sauer Downie; his children, Kate Downie, Maggie Downie (Matt Atwater), Helen Odell (Josh) and William Downie III (Jeanette); his grandchildren, William Downie IV, Quentin Odell, Joanna Downie, Matthew Odell and Caleb Odell; and his pet Bowie.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Coastal Community Baptist Church (7721 Alexander Rd, Wilmington, NC 28411). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's honor to Coastal Community Baptist Church or the Humane Society of your choice.
