He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Horton and Linnie Horton; his wife Barbara Jenness Horton; his siblings, David Horton, Audrey Ray and Laura Hamlet; his sister-in-law Judy Ramsay; his nephew Eugene "Bud" Jenness; and his pets, Hinkley, Chance and DJ.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Shanna Grable (Jay) and Christian Horton (Danielle Walker); his stepgrandchildren, Walker Horton and Savannah Grable; his sister-in-law Ann Horton; and his nieces and nephews, Glenn (Susan), Tony (Karen), Lynne (Michael), Rusty (Kristy), Jeff (Cary), Lisa (Richard), Wendy, Melissa (Zack), Angela (Todd) and Brian. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northside Church (2501 N College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28405). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
