With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Harriss Head of Wilmington, North Carolina, who passed away on June 27, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Meares Harriss and Laura Weddell Harriss; her former husband William Gwynne Head, Jr.; her daughter Katharine Lillington Head; her siblings, Meares Harriss, Jr., Charles Johnson Harriss, John Weddell Harriss, Thomas Brown Harriss, Katharine Iredell Harriss Byers and Winifred Harriss Stephenson; and her niece Winifred Hoskins Stephenson.
She is survived by: her sister Priscilla Cabell; her children, William Gwynne Head III and Laura Head Lambert (John); her granddaughters, Alexandra Morse (Walt Cartier) and Lilli Head; her great grandchild Grayson Morse Cartier; and her husband Charles Vernon MD.
