She was predeceased by: her parents, Meares Harriss and Laura Weddell Harriss; her husband George Burrell Byers; her siblings, Meares Harris Jr., Charles Johnson, John Weddell, Thomas Brown and Winifred Harriss Stephenson; her niece Winifred Hoskins Stephenson; her son-in-law Maurice Denerie Vezina Jr.; and her close friend Edie Sims.
She is survived by: her sisters, Laura Harriss Head Vernon of Wilmington, NC and Priscilla Harriss Cabell of Richmond, VA; her daughters, Katharine Byers Tolley (James), Laura Byers Baer and Georgia Byers Vezina; her granddaughters, Stephanie Tyler Parker (Justin), Jessica Allen Tolley, Katharine Harriss Baer, Elizabeth Ann Baer and Victoria Jennings Baer; and her great grandchildren, Evelyn Sophia Parker, Abigail Mary Katharine Parker and Alexa Denerie Tolley.
