She was predeceased by: her parents, Thaddeus McKay and Mary Pierce McKay; her husband Samuel "Pete" L. Drose; and her sister Barbara Smith. She is survived by: her children, Kay D. West (Zeb) and Arden Drose (Lisa); and her sister Adrienne Johnson. She is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
