It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Freda Jane Bumgarner (Wilmington, North Carolina), who passed away on August 29, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Robert Edwards and Beulah Josephine Edwards (Welch); her siblings, Darrel Edwards, Clinton Edwards, Edna Edwards Roper, Mona Edwards Roper and Ethel Edwards Laube; her sons, Richard Ledford and James Bumgarner Jr.; and her son-in-law Doug Wycoff.
She is survived by: her siblings, Bob Edwards, Ruth Simonds and Lucille Fouts; her children, Roger Bumgarner (Peggy), Wayne Bumgarner, David Ledford (Kathy), Randy Ledford (Tammie), Patricia Wycoff (Bumgarner) and Bruce Bumgarner; and her daughters-in-law, Cydne Ledford (Cook) and Brenda Bumgarner (Stewart). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren plus a few "adopted" grandchildren, nieces, nephews and precious friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
