She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Carroll Newkirk, Sr. and Margaret Peschau Newkirk; her husband Robert Everett Herring, Sr.; her siblings, Elizabeth "Liz" Newkirk Connery and Hugh Carroll "Kirk" Newkirk, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Janet Newkirk, Sheila Herring and Larry Henderson.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Everett "Robin" Herring, Jr. (Sharon), Suzanne Herring Goudarzi (Hormoze), Russell Davis Herring (Betsy) and Tina Herring Manrique (Ricardo); her grandchildren, Roxanna, Rebecca (Diego), Cyrus Goudarzi, Andrea Manrique Becker (Doug), Alexander Manrique (Chelsea), Alexis "Lexi" Herring Weldon (Sam), Katherine "Katie" Herring (Hunter) and Caroline Herring; her stepgrandson Steve Guyton; and her siblings-in-law, Bob Connery, Morris Herring, Jim Eyerman, Karen Newkirk, Kay Henderson and Janice Eyerman. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church (1416 Market St, Wilmington, NC 28401). A reception will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
