She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Samuel Day and Alice Wood Day; her daughter Deborah Thompson Symes; her brother Richard Day (Fitzhugh Wallace); her former husband John Thompson; and her son-in-law Donald Rhine.
She is survived by: her spouse Fitzhugh Ellsworth Wallace, Jr. of Harker's Island; her daughters, Rebecca Thompson Rhine and Elizabeth Thompson Becka; her granddaughters, Heather McGee (Thomas), Caitlin Becka (Victor Shalaev) and Rachel Carlson (Jeremiah); her great grandchildren, Owen, Benjamin McGee and Henry Carlson; her sister-in-law Charlotte Day; her son-in-law Randall Symes; her stepchildren, Laura Wallace Cowen (Donald) and Lew Wallace (Patricia); and her close friend Donald Prout. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
