He was predeceased by: his parents, William Troy and Alda Green Buffkin; and his brother Charles Buffkin. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann King Buffkin; his sons, Tony Buffkin (Ginger) of Clayton and Danny Buffkin (Denise) of Willow Spring; and his granddaughter Katie Doyle (Sean) of Greenville, SC..
