He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady M. Rowland and Lunette Weatherspoon Rowland; and his siblings, Dewey, Cora, Mary, Celia, Annette and Rebecca.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Albee; his sister Catherine Dunn; and his daughters, Rebecca Rowson, Terri Jones, Susan Tingen, Sandra Untch and Vicki Daulton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
