He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bud" and Daisy Smith Lipscomb; his brothers, Clyde and William Lipscomb; and his grandson Matthew Callis.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Rhodes Lipscomb; his children, Wanda Callis (William), Jeanene Matthews (Al), David Lipscomb, Jr. (Angela) and Scott Lipscomb; his grandchildren, Edward Callis, Jacqueline Jones (Allen), Brittany Atkins (Ryan), Jordan Riley (Garrett), Logan Sedivy (Adam), Grant Lipscomb and Daisy Lipscomb; and his great grandchildren, Kennedy Atkins, Hudson Atkins, Grayson Riley, Rylan Sedivy and Brantley Sedivy.
