He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Bowden and Alice Pollard Bowden; and his brother David Bowden. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Meador Bowden; his daughter Eva Nelson (Vaughn); his grandchildren, Erika Nelson Schappell (Matthew) and Davis Vaughn Nelson; his great grandchild Whitley Clare Schappell; and his niece Dawn Deanne Brown.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (1701 Bud Lipscomb Rd, Willow Spring, NC 27592). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
