He was predeceased by: his parents, Frieda Cruse and Norman Cruse; and his grandparents, Ella Safrit, Archie Cruse, Ruth and Fred Stone.
He is survived by: his significant other Annette Whitley Cruse; his brother Steve Cruse (Edele); his children, Brian (Allison) and Stephanie (Ben Schmidt MD); his grandsons, Max and Joe; his brother-in-law Tom Whitley (Terry); his niece Laura (Forrest Waldon); and his great-niece Savannah.
At this time there will be a graveside service for family only due to COVID-19 restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to The Bridge Downeast, Harkers Island, Loaves and Fishes, Beaufort, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26, Havelock.
