He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Rupert and Ora Cherry Chesson. He is survived by: his wife Frances Everett Chesson; his son Jim; his daughter-in-law Susan Chesson; his daughter Serena; his son-in-law Brian Paschal; his siblings, Madaline Johnson and Shelton; and his siblings-in-law, Lela Chesson, James Everett and Carolyn Roberts. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (109 W Church St, Williamston, NC 27892). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Martin Memorial Library or to the Benevolence Committee at Memorial Baptist Church in Williamston.
